HIS WORD. HIS SPIRIT.
HIS ISLANDS. HIS CHURCH.
Who Is New Life Church?
We are a Bible based, Christ centred, Spirit led church
with a passion for the people of Shetland.
We worship together with both joy and reverence for the Lord - giving Him praise and glory for what He has done; leaving space to reflect on His work in our own lives; and seeking His kingdom to come and change the world we live in.
We believe in the outworking of the Holy Spirit amongst believers today, and that God gives His people spiritual gifts for the benefit of His Church.
We believe the church is not a place, but a gathering of Christ followers, that meet with the purpose of worship, prayer, biblical teaching and care for the local community.
We are a Church that is passionate about raising and equipping all generations to know, follow and serve the Lord. From the youngest children to the elders in the community, we value the unique call and gifting the Lord has given them, and support their lifelong journey of discipleship.
New Life Shetland is a place of worship, joy and community. We support each other in prayer, in need and above all seek and give glory to the King of Kings - Jesus.
Our Story
New Life Church began in January 2012, when a small community of passionate worshippers gathered in Sandveien Neighbourhood Centre. While our story as New Life started that day, we are part of a much longer legacy of Spirit-filled believers who have faithfully served God across Shetland for generations.

From the beginning, we've been committed to valuing people, standing firmly on God's Word, and sharing the joy and love of Jesus with our community. Over the years, many people have become part of our story and each has helped shape who we are. Through worship, friendship, prayer, laughter, care and service to others, we've always believed that church is more than a Sunday gathering - it's a community doing life together.

Throughout every season, God has faithfully provided. He has opened doors for places to meet together, raised up leaders at the right time, supplied every need, and enabled us to keep serving our community.

In 2025, after years of prayer and expectation, God fulfilled a long-held vision by providing New Life with its permanent home. We celebrate His faithfulness and look ahead with confidence, believing He will continue to use this church to share His hope and transform lives across Shetland.
